August 2009 - Master Galligan at Chuck Norris's UFAF International Conference
This Summer Master Galligan was invited by Mr Ed Saenz, who is training with Chuck Norris for 40 years and with him runs the Kick Start Organisation, to attend at the United Fighting Arts Federation International Conference which was headed by Chuck Norris in Las Vegas. This event covered street self defense,ju jitsu, Kali, Escrima, knife fighting , bo staff and finished with the UFAF World Championships where Des got to see some of Chuck Norris's best black belts and Masters in action.

While at the conference Des also got to meet with Mr Chip Wright 8th Dan Black Belt who is technical examiner for the UFAF.

April 2009 - New Student Manual now Available
The new student manual will be available from all instructors through the month of April. The book will be available to all Association members.
Thanks to Mr Keith Chang for all his hard work helping to put the book together.
December 2008 - Christmas Black Belt Grading
Congradulations to all the members from the different clubs who graded successfully in December but special congradulations to those members below who took part in the black belt grading who are pictured below including Amy Coughlan 1st Dan Black Belt, Leonard Murphy 3rd Dan Black Belt & Jamie Chang 1st Dan Black Belt. They are pictured with their Instructors Master Galligan and Master Daly and some of the other black belt members Keith Chang, Tina O'Dwyer, Martin O'Dwyer & Kevin Browne.

August 2008 - Senior Black Belt Gradings
Congradulations to senior members Kevin Browne , Paul O'Connell & Niall O'Carroll who all sucessfully graded in August. Mr Kevin Browne was graded for his 3rd Dan, Paul O'Connell for his 2nd Dan and Niall O'Carroll graded for his 1st Dan Black Belt.
May 2008 - GrandMaster Giacobbe Seminar in Limerick
In May we hosted a seminar in Limerick with top American instructor Grand Master Giacobbe 8th Dan Black Belt which was attended by a selection of students from the associations different clubs.

Grand Master Giacobbe Seminar in Limerick
Grandmaster Giacobbe is a direct student of Grandmaster Jae Chul Shin and began his training in Tang Soo Do in 1968. For several years he also received special training from Grandmaster H.C. Hwang son of the founder of Tang Soo Do and Grandmaster C.S. Kim of the International Tang Soo Do Federation.
The skills Grandmaster Giacobbe has acquired through his Tang Soo Do training have been widely recognised have landed him on several TV shows including Thats Incredible, Evening Magazine, Good Morning America, CNN, Entertainment Tonight & Sally Jesse Raphael. A top instructor Grandmaster Giacobbe travelled to Ireland as part of his 2008 European Tour having previously trained with Master Galligan and other senior members when they travelled to the International Championship in Holland in October 2007. He has also been a special physical trainer in 15 world championship boxing bouts working with Evander Holyfield, Pernell Whitaker & Sugar Ray Leonard. He has featured in many magazines and in 2000 was inducted into Black Belt Magazines Hall of Fame.

February 2008 - 2008 Club Championship.
Congratulations to all students who took part in our 2008 Club Championship held in St Endas Sports Complex in Limerick. This was a fun event and was enjoyed by students from all of our clubs. This was the first competition experience for many of the students participating on the day and all did really well. Students got the oppertunity to compete in forms and sparring and the day was very successfull. Special thanks to the black belt members who came along to help - Peter McLoughlin, Gary Brickley, Tina O'Dwyer, Kevin Browne, Master Daly, Master Galligan & Pat Forde
December 2007 - Master Galligan hosts Tang Soo Do Seminar & presents student awards.
On Sunday 2nd December Master Galligan hosted a Tang Soo Do Seminar in Grove Island Leisure Centre, Limerick. The seminar was attended by a large group of students representing all of our clubs. The seminar was an excellent event and all students enjoyed the oppertunity to train with Master Galligan. Also on the day Master Galligan presented awards to Evan Kelly , Dave Meaney & James Meaney for their efforts. All three have put in outstanding effort throughout the year both in class & in their own training and have also successfully represented Tang Soo Do in a number of competitions around Ireland and internationally.
October 2007 - Galligans Tang Soo Do Team Represent Ireland in Holland.
Congradulations to all members of the team who travelled to Holland in October to compete in the International Tang Soo Do Championships. This was a very big event with teams from over 12 different countries. The competition ran over 2 days and our team got to meet fellow Tang Soo Do students, instructors & Masters from all over the world. Our team members were Master Galligan as team instructor, Master Daly, Mr Pat Forde, Mr Kevin Browne , Mr Leonard Murphy, Mr David Meaney and his son James Meaney. With some of the teams competing having over 120 team members the Irish team was the smallest team competing but all of our team came away from the competition very happy and proud having performed very well. Congradulations to all.
Also while in Holland our team members got to the opportunity to take part in a seminar hosted by Grandmaster Giacobbe from the USA. This was an excellent seminar and was really enjoyed by all.
All members of the Irish team would like to thank Master Lee & his team from Holland for organising an excellent event and for the friendship & hospitality they extended to the Irish team while in Holland.

23rd September 2007 - Galligan's Tang Soo Do announce new affiliations
Congratulations to Master Galligan 6th Dan and Galligans Tang Soo Do Association for joining and being affiliated to the World Korean Martial Arts Union and the National Tang Soo Do Federation.
22nd July 2007 - Congradulations to the 7 new black belts graded as part Summer Black Belt Examinations.
The new black belts are from Mr Fordes class in Hospital & Master Galligans class in Limerick
Project School. The new black belts are John O'Brien, Lukas Stuchenberg, Tina O'Dwyer,
Daniel Hanley, Martin O'Dwyer , Keith Chang who was graded in June, & Peter
McLoughlin.

July 2007 Black Belt Grading.
15th May 2007 - Galligans Tang Soo Do Competition Success
Following on from a successful outing to the B.M.A.F Irish Open in
December a team of Galligans Tang Soo Do students successfully competed again in
April at the 2007 White Dragon Irish Open Tournament in Cork.
Competing against a large number of Tae Kwon Do , Kick Boxing & Karate clubs our
team did remarkable well & it was a very positive day for all involved.
Our senior red belts, Sean Hayes, Peter McLoughlin & William Tobin had
a clean-sweep of their sparring division winning first, second & third
respectively.
In the senior red & black belt patterns division, Red Belt member Gary
Brickley competing against many senior black belts did remarkably well
& after narrowly loosing out in the tie for 2nd place finished in 3rd
place in a very tough division.
In the adult green belt division Dave Meaney competed very well and
finished in 2nd Place. Dave's son James aged 10 was our youngest
competitor on the day. James showed remarkable spirit on the day fighting his way
to 3rd place in the kids green belt division. James also successfully
competed in the Kids King of the Ring competition which had a very
large number of competitors. James fought his way through many fights to
finish in 2nd place.
Congradulations to all those who competed & thanks to those who
travelled on the day to support our team. All of our team showed remarkable
fighting spirit on the day , well done!.
04th March 2007 - Congradulations Master Daly
17th of December 2006, Mr Daly graded for 4th Dan Black Belt by Master Galligan and
certified by Grandmaster Jae Joon Kim. With great sadness Grandmaster Jae Joon Kim passed away on
the 9th of January 2007. Master Daly was one of the last Tang Soo Do Members to receive a
Masters Certificate from Grandmaster Jae Joon Kim before his unfortunate death
28th May 2006 - Munster Tang Soo Do Seminar
The club are holding a Tang Soo Do seminar on Sunday the 28/05/2006 in the Presentation Seconday School Gym, Sexton Street, Limerick. The seminar will cover a range of topics from Hand and Kicking Techniques to Pad Work and Sparring. The seminar will run for 3 hours and starts at 11.00am. All are welcome. Classes will commence in the Limerick Project School on Monday 17th of October from 7.00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A general grading will be held in the Limerick Project School on Saturday the 27th of August starting at 10:00am
